Last weekend while driving through
Dallas, we spotted a murder in progress.
Connie, Sharon and I were in Dallas attending the Gift Market. As we were leaving town we decided to do some "big city" shopping before heading back to the country. As we drove down Northwest Highway on our way to the new Whole Foods store we saw the crime in progress. I tried to get a picture on my phone while we were in motion, but it was no good. Traffic was moving too fast and I am unaccustomed to taking pictures with my phone. So Sharon risked having the backend of her new Prius creamed by the speeding pickup truck behind us and did a sharp turn to return to the scene of the crime. The first crepe murder was completed but the crime spree continued on another tree.

Do not commit crepe murder! No one seems to know where this practice started of chopping the branches of crepe myrtles down to nubs. It does not improve the look of the trees and actually weakens them. There is no good reason to butcher your trees, especially just because your neighbor does it.
The poor victim
